Background

SME Development Finance Corporation in collaboration with Ministry of Economic Development, has initiated a project to support sustain MSMEs through financial assistance, intending for a sustainable labor market to preserve the employments, that has been affected onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Hereof, SDFC is looking for competent and dynamic individuals to work as assistant consultant for the aforesaid project. The expected deliverables and requirements are outlined below.

Key tasks, responsibilities, and deliverables:  

  • Assist customers to assess feasibility of their business proposals, financial statements, budgets, and forecasts by reviewing and comparing with internal and external information and market trends.
  • Respond to financial inquiries of customers in relation to business proposals and business opportunities.
  • Assess the creditworthiness customers with emphasis on capacity to borrow, repayment capability, financial ratio analysis, profile of the business and available securities.
  • Review financial forecasts of customers and advice and make recommendations to customers on financial feasibility and potential mitigations.
  • Provide financial advice to customers by analyzing operational and financial requirement of applicants.
  • Evaluating the commercial feasibility of SME loan proposals by analyzing the business model, identifying strengths, weakness, risks, understanding the revenue models, management capability and the corporate structure of the businesses
  • Provide consultancy solutions to businesses that approach the clinic and recommend options to review committee.
  • Present findings from the evaluation and finalize credit memo and place for credit review after incorporating committee opinions.
  • Provide support on ad hoc requests as required by the Management.

 Requirements:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree business, Finance, Marketing or relevant field.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in business consultancy/advisory preferred.
  • Proven experience as business consultant or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of diverse business matters such as Finance, IT, Marketing, HR etc.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mind with excellent data collection and analysis skills.
  • Aptitude in creative problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with trade, economic development, and development of private sector in the Maldives.  
  • Experience in the banking or financial services industry would be an added advantage. 

 Remuneration Package:  

  • Gross pay between MVR 23,000 – MVR 25,000 depending on the Qualification and Experience. 

   Working Hours:  

  • The selected consultants will be required to work from 0800 to 1600 on weekdays.
