Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, such as cranes, bulldozers, graders, excavators, and other machinery used in construction.
• Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.
• Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions.
• Repair and maintain the operating condition of machinery and equipment.
• Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
• Inform and request spare parts to repair the diagnosed problems from operations.
• Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.
• Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Tear down, repair, and rebuild faulty assemblies such as power systems, steering systems, and linkages.
• Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
• Fit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using testing devices.
• Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.
• Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas.
• Confer with customers to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems, and to discuss work to be performed and future repair requirements.
• Test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications.
• Record repairs and maintenance performed
• Ensure that personnel of the assigned group engage in safe work practices in compliance with site-specific safety procedures and industry standards.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Related field OR
• Diploma in a related field with 1 year experience OR
• 3  years' experience in repair and maintenance of heavy vehicles, including hydraulic cranes, excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, and other industrial vehicles.
